C+C Photography Gallery is pleased to present our Fall online exhibition highlighting classic black & white photographs from our collection.
Featured works include a hand-signed gelatin silver print by the late documentary photographer Sebastião Salgado. Known for his award-winning nature and wildlife photography which led him to explore over 120 countries during his lifetime, this image of the vast chinstrap penguin population on Deception Island in Antarctica comes from Salgado's widely celebrated Genesis series. Following Salgado's recent passing in May of this year, we are honored to offer this incredibly special collector's piece.
Other works of note include a stunning platinum palladium print of George Hoyningen-Huene's iconic 1930 fashion photograph Divers, which Anna Wintour famously named one of her favorite Vogue images from the magazine's extensive history. Inspired by Greek classical sculpture, Hoyningen-Huene's work brilliantly unites elements of both tradition and modernity, setting him apart as a pioneering photographer of his time.
This online exhibition also features works by esteemed artists including Norman Parkinson, Andy Warhol, Horst P. Horst, Harry Benson, Ruth Orkin, Garry Winogrand, Terry O'Neill, Morris Engel, Christophe von Hohenberg, and Robert Farber.
