C+C Photography Gallery is thrilled to announce its participation as an exhibitor in the Focal Point Sector of the upcoming 2026 AIPAD Photography Show at the Park Avenue Armory (643 Park Avenue), spotlighting the work of internationally acclaimed photographer Dean West.
In advance of this special feature, we have launched an interactive online retrospective exhibition celebrating over a decade of Dean West's esteemed career as an artist, and highlighting his most renowned series including American West and The Palms. Throughout the month of April, select works will also be on view concurrently at our midtown New York gallery located at 3 West 57th Street, 4th Floor.
Dean West is known for his intricate and highly staged photographs that take everyday occurrences beyond the realm of natural reality. He explores themes including identity, freedom, and power through careful and meticulous studies of his subject matter, which ranges from American cowboy culture to suburbia to wildlife. West produces striking portraits and narrative scenes that draw his viewers in and capture their attention. His work is both stunningly cinematic yet deeply personal at the same time.
We are also pleased to introduce West's newest release Cali Silhouette # 1 which will make its official debut this Spring at The Photography Show. Here, his female subject merges elements of both high fashion and Western tradition as she pairs a sharply tailored suit with a cowboy hat. West explains, "this work collapses distinctions between ranch and runway, utility and design, labor and identity. The modern cowgirl is not fixed; she is fluid, occupying multiple worlds at once."
